Coupe de France (The French FA Cup)

The French FA Cup (Coupe de France) is the most traditional and desirable French competition and has been played since 1917. Combined with random draws and one-off matches (no replays), the Coupe de France can be difficult for the bigger clubs to win. Therefore, also the famous and big clubs play with their best squad as the cup appreciates a very high prestige and tradition.

The final is played at the Stade de France and the winner of the Coupe de France qualifies for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.

Due to the extreme investments of more than €250M (2012/13 only) into famous football players by two of the most traditional clubs, Paris St. Germain and AS Monaco, as well as the great international performance of clubs such as Olympique Lyon and Olympique Marseille, the French Football increased the international interest significantly.

Playbook International markets the media rights to the Coupe de France to several territories over the next years.
